This is without question the biggest thing either of us has ever asked for, and that makes it damn scary. No doubt there are some of you who will call it irresponsible; that's your right, and I'm not going to try and change your minds. But [personal profile] gridlore asked, and there were friends of his who said they would be willing to help us if we put the word out. And so we have.

I can't afford to donate--I'm barely keeping my head above water, but if you need enticements, I can donate a cowl or a felt bowl. Examples here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/RavenYarnworks

There's a difference between "ohshit" help and "Be part of our joy" help. I consider this the latter.

I have no money to share, none at all. I mean, literally. I'm just lucky (mostly the luck of the right decisions at the right time) that it doesn't really do much to impact my needs.

However, I'd like to share some advice. FIRST THING GET YOUR PASSPORTS. I don't know if you have them already; if so then ignore this. But there is nothing scarier in the moment than having an international trip planned, and some desk borg holding up the passport approval for weird reasons. This also would save you having to pay the "rush this application so it moves at normal human speed" premium.

And take pictures. Man, I'd love to see those things. Not enough to go, and it's been ages since I've been 'cross borders. I really miss the unsettled feeling of being in a foreign country (actually last time I felt that was in New Orleans, which I swear is only connected to the US physically.)
