kshandra: The Burning Man effigy, lit in blue neon, arms by his sides; an orange half-moon is visible over his shoulder. (Argh!)
The hit list for this week:
  • Day Five with no phone service (and thus no internet) at home; [livejournal.com profile] baka49er will be at the apartment after 12 today, in the hopes that the repair drone didn't get there before 12.
  • The above leading to a chat with my grand-boss (nothing formal, fortunately) about using the net during working hours.
  • [livejournal.com profile] gridlore missing two days' work this week, thus not being able to take today off to wait for the aformentioned repair drone.
  • Someone I thought was going to be a very close friend deleting zir LJ and no longer responding to email.
  • Far too many hours spent cleaning the apartment (and a potential all-nighter ahead of us as we clean the carpets and finish throwing crap away), in anticipation of:
  • An inspection tomorrow morning to determine whether or not we'll be evicted over our poor housekeeping.
  • AND I'm premenstrual.

I am ready for several very large drinks....

[livejournal.com profile] gridlore just called; [livejournal.com profile] baka49er has arrived at Offhand Manor, and the front door did not have a "Sorry We Missed You" notice on it. Fingers crossed that they'll get there in a reasonable amount of time and actually, y'know, FIX the problem.

So the phone works again...but the DSL modem still won't sync. Wonderful.

Success! I power cycled the modem before I went to pick up Doug; by the time we went to the store and got home, it had found the signal again.
