I'm home sick. Again. With Day 2 of a sinus headache that refuses to leave me alone. I've taken the last cold-and-sinus pill with pseudoephedrine in the house, and it's long since worn off. I have a box of phenylephrine, and it does sweet fuck-all for me. (I have yet to try doubling up on the dosage; since I'll be home all day, I could give it a shot.) I was supposed to go to Brady's funeral this evening after work (and hopefully see [livejournal.com profile] _duncan there), but the pain is mostly centered over one eye, and I'm not about to drive that far in that condition.

[livejournal.com profile] murphymom, when did you first start getting cluster headaches?

The pain has subsided to the point where I can think about eating, at least; once I've done that and [livejournal.com profile] gridlore gets back from his new-job physical, I'll head over to RiteAid and see if they've got any pseudo hiding behind the counter.

Scott (Bounce) Lofgren's Memorial Service

These are all up with minimal editing. Some of them are rather badly unfocused; my profound apologies, the camera is new to me. If you can help fill in names of any of the people present in the photos, let me know.

Received an email from Chukka this afternoon; to best accommodate Scott's sister coming from Minnesota, it is likely the memorial wiil be on the weekend of Jan 13-14th.

Additionally, Joseph Pred has set up a fund through Mutual Aid Response Services (the company he started, where Scott worked); donations will go towards Scott's funeral expenses, with excess funds donated in Scott's name to a charity Chukka desginates.

Well, he waited for us to get back....

PJ passed away last night in his home in Longmont, CO. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, his parents, and a brother and sister. Services are still pending.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

...to everyone who sent their wishes as I dealt with Laura's and Jason's deaths over the weekend. Neither of them had ever been in the best of health when I met them (Laura especially), so neither of them really surprised me - but as I noted in my latest obituary post, knowing it's coming doesn't make it easier, as a rule.

Damnit.

We knew it was coming, but that never seems to make it any easier....

Farewell, Scotty.

Somewhere in my things, I have a picture from a con in the mid-80's of my then-best friend and me, sitting in Jimmy's lap, with him playing peek-a-boo through our hair. The man was a gem, one of the sweetest I've ever been privileged enough to meet through fandom, and he will be missed.

35 isn't old enough to have two friends die on the same fucking weekend.

I need dish therapy. *breaks things*

Goodbye, Laura.

I finally broke down this morning - and, of course, something completely unrelated on the surface was what did it.

I was driving back up from a run to Cupertino (BTW, work blew chunks - I did a little more business than I did on Tuesday, but not enough to really make a dent), and had the radio on, since I was back in "my" new van. Marc Cohn's version of "Walking In Memphis" was on, and suddenly the words were exploding from my mouth:

And she said--
"Tell me are you a Christian child?"
And I said "Ma'am I am tonight"
I'll be anything at all, if it'll only bring him home....

LIAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
