BC ends biannual time changes. Will move to permanent daylight savings (UTC-07) time on March 8th. Premier David Eby: "We are done waiting. British Columbia is going to change our clocks just one more time — and then never again,"

BC's new time zone will be called "Pacific time". The province had been waiting for Washington, Oregon and California to make the change since 2019 after a government study[PDF] found that 93% of residents favoured discontinuing the biannual changes for permanent daylight savings time. The change synchronizes BC's time with neighbouring Yukon.

While I was in the middle of looking through some stuff I had got back from a storage shed, I found an old portable USB drive that still works! I found some great mp3s and old stuff I wrote.

I don't remember WHEN I wrote this exactly, but so long ago... It's amusing, and I'll share it.

Iza-chan, Iza-chan

Iza-chan, Iza-chan
Eating Ootoro
Almost as if there's no tomorrow

It's his favorite sushi
He leaves none for me
Even when I offer him money

Iza-chan, Iza-chan
No Trident for you
No toothpaste or mouthwash
Or any mouth spray to use

You'll have to walk around
With seafood breath
'Cause there's none to be found

I locked them all up
And hid away the key
I won't tell you the location
Unless you say, "Pretty please?"

Iza-chan, Iza-chan
No, I won't let Shizuo know
About any of this--so let's go!
Before he gets something to throw

michael b jordan standing clutching someone in sinners

The Actor Awards was nothing short of phenomenal for Sinners. Ryan Coogler and that cast’s massive triumph has us feeling hopeful about the upcoming Oscars.

Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Autumn Durald Arkapaw, and everyone else who worked on that movie have to be feeling good. They cleaned up at The Actors Awards. Social media was aflutter with multiple reactions to the good vibes just emanating from the entire Sinners contingent present at that award show. It’s not an understatement to say that the entire event felt more like a coronation than anything else.

NYC girl accidentally steals an order at Starbucks because of a glitch in the matrix.

We’ve all had our names mangled on a coffee cup before. But 22-year-old Mae’s one trip to Starbucks resulted in a chronological coincidence so perfect it felt like a rift in the space-time continuum. Or, a glitch in the matrix, if you believe.

TikTok creator Mae Moore (@mae_moore) has reached over 1.5 million viewers with a story that sounds more like a playground riddle than a morning caffeine run. It initially started with the Starbucks staff making a lighthearted joke about her name sounding like the month “May.”

Locksmith learns a lesson after he refused to believe a woman could be the owner of Chick-fil-A.

We often assume that in 2026, the image of a “boss” has finally evolved past a suit and a tie. But one female Chick-fil-A owner’s viral encounter proves that old-school biases are still alive and well.

Shelita Jaclyn (@operatorinchief), a Chick-fil-A franchise owner, is taking TikTok by storm after sharing a “Windows 95 error” moment with a contractor. And it all happened simply because the contractor couldn’t process her authority.

On February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran to overthrow its current government, resulting in the demise of its supreme leader, Ali Khamenei. While several people belonging to the Middle Eastern country are, right now, celebrating the news of Khamenei’s death, especially women who were crushed under the regime’s regressive views and practices, many are unhappy with the events that have transpired.

In the second category are mostly Americans who believe that Donald Trump should not have interfered with the matters of foreign countries and that, in doing so, he was making the United States a target, making it vulnerable to future attacks or worse, leading it into war. Representative Jason Crow is one of the individuals who hold this view, and he spoke about it during a conversation with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on February 28, 2026.

Rally held in Beyazit in support of Iranian protests, as women raise two fingers to the sky

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been receiving criticism on all sides for taking a centrist stance regarding the United States’ and Iran’s conflict. Party members, the opposition, and journalists have taken turns to lambast Starmer.

Starmer, in an announcement video, told the public where he stands on the issue. He started by clarifying that the United Kingdom was not involved in the strikes against Iran. However, he is willing to let the United States use British military bases for Iran strikes.

Saturday Night Live has never shied away from delving into politics, especially when it comes to bashing Donald Trump. In fact, since last year, after Trump became president of the United States for a second term, the late-night live sketch comedy variety show has been more proactive than ever in critiquing him and his party.

One of the most popular segments on Saturday Night Live is Weekend Update, hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost. For those unfamiliar with the segment’s format, Che and Jost basically present the week’s developments in a parodied format. For this week, one of the prominent topics of discussion was the US and Israel joining forces and waging a war on Iran, leading to the death of its supreme leader, Ali Khamenei. In the context of this event, Colin Jost highlighted the hypocrisy of Donald Trump by playing a video of him from 2011. To learn what it was about, continue reading.

Every once in a while, you are faced with a situation that you had not anticipated, and it leads to several other experiences that you wouldn’t want to go through. TikTok user @x.abss was faced with a similar predicament when she decided to grab some food at a nearby Taco Bell.

On October 23, 2025, Abby, who goes by the name of @x.abss on TikTok, shared a video narrating her experiences of visiting a Taco Bell in San Antonio, Texas. So what really happened? As she recounts in her video, she and her husband, while running errands, decided to make a pit stop at a Taco Bell. While there, Abby had put her purse at the back of her chair and, on her way out, forgot about it. It was not until she and her husband were in their next destination that she realised that her purse wasn’t there. What happened next is definitely a unique experience for Abby and the approximately 500K people who watched her video.

Currently, I have what is quite possibly a migraine? My brain feels like my cognition is normal but pain level is bad, light is more stabby than usual, sound is nauseating. Also since I’ve been having so many headaches, lately, I have been taking too many NSAIDs and have apparently given myself another stomach ulcer. So in all I’m doing great. /s 😅😩😣

I’m nearly done with the clinical volunteer hours for school, I’ll be done with those hopefully by next Saturday. On Friday I passed the national massage exam, the MBLEx, so now I just need to get the legislative exam taken care of before my paperwork is together for getting licensed in this state. And I would be studying for legislative test right now … if I didn’t have such an awful headache.

I just took the last of the Ubrelvy and I’m about to go take an anti-emetic bc that is feeling very necessary all of a sudden. This morning I started the two weeks of Omeprazole/stomach acid reducer pills that will help heal the ulcer (eventually). I just have to eat a fair amount of bread between now and the hypothetical day when my stomach will be healed up.

Wish me strength in the fight against the headache spirits, I guess. And for the ulcer to go the fuck away.

My willow cuttings have arrived! :D I will need to unpack them and set them up. My plan is to put some in water, which makes willow water, which can be used to root other things. I shall take cuttings from some dogwoods and other things here to see if this works. I also intend to put some willow cuttings in soil to see how that works. Since willows are pretty much the easiest thing to propagate from cuttings, and I have 3 of each color, I figure at least one of each should survive.

Willow is a keystone plant, supporting many other species. Early blooms feed bees. Birds like to nest in willows. Many species of insects, especially butterfly and moth larvae, feed on them. They also make great craft materials and, as mentioned above, spew out rooting hormones.

woman shares boyfriend experiment (l) milk in fridge (r)

What started as a forgotten carton of milk quickly sparked a viral discussion about whether it was time to end her relationship.

In a TikTok that’s now gone viral, creator Liz (@lizzyfromtheblock99) explained that she found a spoiled carton of milk in her boyfriend’s fridge. Instead of throwing it away or mentioning it to him, she chose to conduct a silent experiment.

Broadcaster and journalist Mehdi Hasan has been one of the most vocal critics of Donald Trump in the past couple of years. However, since Trump began his second term last year, and in response to his recent actions both in the U.S. and abroad, Hasan’s contempt for him has increased manifold.

Mehdi Hasan has become viral on the internet once again due to what he is saying about Donald Trump and his activities in Iran, and he isn’t wrong. For those unfamiliar, on February 28, 2026, the US and Israel joined forces to launch an attack on Iran, leading to the eventual death of the country’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei. Hasan, while addressing the event, highlighted that Trump wasn’t behaving in an unfamiliar manner with respect to his proceedings in Iran, as it was straight out of the Republican leaders’ handbook, one being that they would bomb a Middle Eastern country after assuming office.

Peter Tork from the Monkees had a strange little quirk. Sometimes, when other actors on the band's sitcom were delivering their lines Tork would unthinkingly mouth their dialogue along with them, as seen in this Youtube compilation. Once you spot it, it makes the show (which was already kinda weird) weird in a whole new way.

TV finished

Nothing, sob.

Okay, maybe I could count the complete video of Wu Lei's birthday livestream (from his birthday in December) which I found on youtube? It's about an hour long, and I watched that a few times until I understood at least some very small parts of it. Yay? That took up a lot of time, too, lol. eowuli on twitter promised to sub it, but I haven't seen a subbed version of it yet. The raw is here on youtube.

TV new (ongoing)

I'll count Saint Pierre here. The second season has started, and I have now watched one episode. I had forgotten how much getting used to Arch's French accent takes. I had no trouble with it (loved it, in fact) by the end of season 1, and I'm surprised that I'm apparently starting from scratch again now. I don't know why I missed the show so much, but I did, and I'm happy to have it back. The first ep took me right back into the town and the characters. I'm looking forward to the season.

TV continued

The Company (16/30), the time-traveling cdrama. I watched eight episodes of that this month. Still enjoying the BL vibes, wondering if they really put them in there intentionally or if I'm just wearing slash goggles. Peak time travel shenanigans in ep 10, then they set logical boundaries, and then immediately broke them again, lol. :D They are adorable. I'm definitely enjoying the show more than I thought I would, even though I expected more time machine shenanigans in the latest plotline, but my guess as to what had happened was completely wrong, lol. :D Overall, now that I'm about halfway through: I find some of the show a bit preachy, but not overly so. It hasn't turned me off yet. Most of it is just fun, and I find it surprisingly engaging! It's on viki.

I watched four more episodes of The Cross-Dressed Union, now on 22/24. It really is a fun watch, and even the grasslands sidequest was kind of satisfyingly resolved and integrated into the rest of the plot. I was surprised. Sadly, I then lost track of it, I really should just finish it, there's not much left. I definitely rec it. It's on youtube.

Three eps of Bridgerton Season 4! Watchalonging this, and we're all caught up now for the second part of the season. I loved the Queen in ep2! I didn't expect them to make her this obvious. Her reaction to Agatha's announcement in ep1 was pretty obvious to me, but seeing it play out like that was *chef's kiss* and made me cry. For some reason, I'm not really invested in Violet's storyline anymore this season? I liked it better last season. But her line in ep4 was hilarious, I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. :D My favorite character continues to be Penelope. <3 Sophie is starting to grow on me, too. The cliffhanger after ep4 is painful, but I thought it was quite logical. I have no complaints, really.

Two eps of Our Times (05/38), the 90s retro "IT students go professional" cdrama with Wu Lei and Hou Minghao. I still just find Wu Lei and Hou Minghao in (ugly!) period dress and hairstyle very very adorable. The bromance vibes are through the roof. So far, all lead characters are being trodden on repeatedly, to really firmly establish their underdog status. I'm sure that'll change throughout the show, but for now, this is exactly my thing. The embarrassment squick is relatively strong so far, but I made it through and am confident I will continue to do so. (I now have an active icon for it. That escalated quickly. :D). It's on wetv and youtube.

TV (dropped)

Nothing, I hope?

Shows for which I have fewer than 5 eps left but haven't watched a single one all month: The Long Ballad (1) and Love on the Turquoise Land (4). /o\

Rewatches/Watchalongs

The Nothing But You watchalong is now on ep 20. \o/ Enjoying the hell out of this watchalong.

Bridgerton season 4 hasn't gripped me. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not watching it on my own, or if it's the show itself. Who knows. We do both enjoy it, though.

The When A Snail Falls in Love watchalong is now done! \o/ The last episode was actually a little better than I'd feared. I don't regret watching it. We have now also started Nothing But You, I can never watch that too many times. <3

Rabbit, rabbit! To inaugurate the spring month, it snowed flurrily all yesterday morning. This afternoon we are flooded with freezing sun. I can't believe Purim is already upon us. So many names need to be blotted out.

As of the start of the month, I seem to have had over a hundred-dollar drop in my Patreon membership without any notification of a mass die-off in subscriptions. Any suggestions on interpreting this deficit would be appreciated since it is my only steady source of income at the moment and we are so broke.

I am still feeling in something of a mental blast crater about the news. I have spent my afternoon on the phone. [personal profile] rushthatspeaks who also spent his afternoon on the phone is coming over and we are going to lie on the couch and complain about doctors and lawyers. And business executives.
